I had an introspective post about motherhood all planned out in my head. Really, I did.
Then I discovered Inkscape – an open source (FREE!) vector graphics editor (Illustrator-ish program). See, I’ve been wanting to play around with blog design stuff, but I can’t afford to pay anyone to do it, I can’t afford Illustrator, and I’m too graphically challenged to figure out something by myself.
But dude. Inkscape.
Two hours later, I’ve stayed up far too late (especially when you factor in the 10-hour shift I’m working at the pharmacy tomorrow) and I have no usable design stuff.
You know what? It was pretty fun. Probably not worth it when the alarm goes off in the morning, but fun all the same.
I’m good with that.
*I’m pretty sure I don’t have to tell you this post isn’t sponsored, right? If it were sponsored, I’d have actually accomplished something marvelous instead of frittering away valuable sleep time.
**I could really go for a fritter right about now. Who’s with me?
***Where does that phrase even come from? “Frittering away”? That’s just weird.
****You all planned to Google the etymology of “fritter away,” right?
*****First recorded appearance: Alexander Pope’s Dunciad (1728): “How prologues into prefaces decay, And these to notes are fritter’d quite away.”
I’m done. Really. As you were.
